R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Houston teacher Frank W. Ward, Jr., has received a
  2006 Milken Family Foundation National Educator Award; and
         WHEREAS, One of the most prestigious educational honors in
  the nation, the Milken National Educator Award pays tribute to
  individuals who have demonstrated an exceptional talent for
  teaching as evidenced by their outstanding instruction, the success
  of their students, and their accomplishments beyond the classroom;
  and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Ward is a graduate of Texas A&M University and
  the University of St. Thomas, where he earned a master's degree in
  education and an administrative certification; he has taught at
  Kashmere Gardens Elementary School since 1999; and
         WHEREAS, In fulfilling the duties of his noble calling, Mr.
  Ward sets a sterling example of excellence to which all educators
  may aspire, and his efforts on behalf of the youth of the Lone Star
  State have set many on the path to a bright and rewarding future;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Frank W. Ward, Jr., on his receipt
  of a 2006 Milken Family Foundation National Educator Award and
  extend to him best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Ward as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
