R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Zachary Johnson of San Antonio has made a valuable
  contribution to his community through his Eagle Scout project,
  which involved extensive refurbishing of Brooks City Park; and
         WHEREAS, To carry out this undertaking, Mr. Johnson raised
  $1,200 and recruited volunteers from his church, school, and
  family; over the course of four months, he and his team logged a
  total of 332 volunteer hours building 14 player benches,
  reconditioning two bleachers, constructing an aboveground
  sprinkler, painting 10 goalposts, and picking up trash; and
         WHEREAS, A member of Troop 97 with The Church of Jesus Christ
  of Latter-day Saints, Mr. Johnson expects to earn the last badges he
  needs to qualify for the rank of Eagle Scout by June 2007; in
  addition to his scouting endeavors, he plays trumpet for the East
  Central High School Golden Hornet Band, solves Sudoku puzzles, and
  plays video games; he has compiled an outstanding academic record
  and hopes to attend Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah; and
         WHEREAS, Zachary Johnson is truly an accomplished young man,
  and the drive and resourcefulness he has exhibited in completing
  his Eagle Scout project give promise of a bright and rewarding
  future; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Zachary Johnson on the completion
  of his Eagle Scout project and extend to him sincere best wishes for
  continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Johnson as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
