R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, February 21, 2007, is Children's Advocacy Centers of
  Texas Day at the State Capitol, and it is appropriate to take this
  opportunity to recognize the important work of this notable
  organization; and
         WHEREAS, Since its establishment in 1994, Children's
  Advocacy Centers of Texas, Incorporated (CACTX), has striven to
  restore the lives of abused children by supporting advocacy centers
  in partnership with local communities and agencies investigating
  and prosecuting child abuse; and
         WHEREAS, With 61 centers in 148 Texas counties, support is
  available to more than 92 percent of our state's children, and over
  30,000 kids in the Lone Star State benefited from CACTX services in
  the past year alone; and
         WHEREAS, The future of Texas depends largely on its children,
  for the challenges of tomorrow will be met by the youth of today,
  and the efforts of CACTX in behalf of our most vulnerable citizens
  have helped to strengthen families and communities throughout the
  state; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby recognize February 21, 2007, as Children's
  Advocacy Centers of Texas Day at the State Capitol and commend all
  those involved with this vital program for their contributions to
  the youth of the Lone Star State.
