R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, February 21, 2007, is Children's Advocacy Centers of |
|
Texas Day at the State Capitol, and it is appropriate to take this |
|
opportunity to recognize the important work of this notable |
|
organization; and |
|
WHEREAS, Since its establishment in 1994, Children's |
|
Advocacy Centers of Texas, Incorporated (CACTX), has striven to |
|
restore the lives of abused children by supporting advocacy centers |
|
in partnership with local communities and agencies investigating |
|
and prosecuting child abuse; and |
|
WHEREAS, With 61 centers in 148 Texas counties, support is |
|
available to more than 92 percent of our state's children, and over |
|
30,000 kids in the Lone Star State benefited from CACTX services in |
|
the past year alone; and |
|
WHEREAS, The future of Texas depends largely on its children, |
|
for the challenges of tomorrow will be met by the youth of today, |
|
and the efforts of CACTX in behalf of our most vulnerable citizens |
|
have helped to strengthen families and communities throughout the |
|
state; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby recognize February 21, 2007, as Children's |
|
Advocacy Centers of Texas Day at the State Capitol and commend all |
|
those involved with this vital program for their contributions to |
|
the youth of the Lone Star State. |
