R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Nacogdoches High School Band has been selected |
|
|
to march in the 119th Rose Parade at the Tournament of Roses on |
|
|
January 1, 2008, and this talented organization is a source of great |
|
|
pride for its city and the Lone Star State; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Under the able direction of Glynn Wells, the |
|
|
award-winning Golden Dragon band is one of only 14 high school bands |
|
|
chosen from around the country to participate in this festive |
|
|
event; moreover, the Golden Dragons will be the only military band |
|
|
featured in the parade, which will be based on the theme, "Passport |
|
|
to the World's Celebrations"; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Some 180 students, along with Mr. Wells and numerous |
|
|
assistants, will travel to Pasadena for this extraordinary |
|
|
opportunity, and they take with them the enthusiastic support of |
|
|
their fellow Texans; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate the Nacogdoches High School Band on |
|
|
its selection to participate in the Tournament of Roses 119th Rose |
|
|
Parade and that all those affiliated with the group be extended |
|
|
sincere best wishes for a memorable and successful experience; and, |
|
|
be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the Nacogdoches High School Band as an expression of |
|
|
high regard by the Texas House of Representatives. |
