R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Family and friends were deeply saddened by the death |
|
of McGregor resident Bill Lewallen, who passed away on January 22, |
|
2007, at the age of 62; and |
|
WHEREAS, Born to Willie Leonard and Garnett Elizabeth Beard |
|
Lewallen on October 4, 1944, in Waco, Mr. Lewallen was a graduate of |
|
Waco High School and continued his education at 4-C Business |
|
College; he worked for 35 years as a truck driver; and |
|
WHEREAS, He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the |
|
U.S. Army from 1968 to 1970, and he received the National Defense |
|
Service Medal, Purple Heart, Vietnam Service Medal, and Vietnam |
|
Campaign Medal; and |
|
WHEREAS, Although his death has brought great sorrow to his |
|
loved ones, Bill Lewallen leaves behind many fond memories that |
|
they will treasure forever; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Bill Lewallen and |
|
extend sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife, Brenda |
|
"Candy" Lewallen; to his children, William Calvin Lewallen, Jr., |
|
and Michelle Nall and her husband, Kevin; to his stepchildren, |
|
Nathan Wayne Nance and Cynthia Diann Parker; to his grandchildren, |
|
William Franklin, Lauren Kelly, and Lindsey Taylor Lewallen; to his |
|
sister, Sandra Foster; and to his other relatives and friends; and, |
|
be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Bill |
|
Lewallen. |
