R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Noteworthy entrepreneur and civic leader Mariwyn
  Dye-Webb has given generously to her community and to her fellow
  Amarillo residents; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Webb founded DB&A Advertising in 1981; as
  president and CEO, she managed the day-to-day operations of the
  multimillion dollar company while also serving as creative
  director; and
         WHEREAS, In addition to assisting clients in the retail, real
  estate, financial, and automotive industries, she helped to
  establish the corporate marketing department for Homart
  Development Co., formerly a division of Sears, Roebuck and Co.,
  created campaigns for 35 shopping malls across the country, and
  developed multimedia advertising for Universal Health Services,
  Inc.; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Webb sold DB&A in 1995, and since that time she
  has headed a national literacy program for Wal-Mart called "Words
  Are Your Wheels" and helped to write a book by the same title; and
         WHEREAS, Committed to bettering her community, she has shared
  her time and talents with the United Way, Amarillo Symphony Ball,
  High Plains Book Festival, and Children's Miracle Network Duck
  Race; and
         WHEREAS, The efforts of this esteemed professional have
  earned her praise from the American Advertising Federation, which
  awarded her its highest honor, the Silver Medal; her service as a
  delegate to the White House Commission on Small Business and on the
  Amarillo Board of City Development is further evidence of her
  commendable dedication; and
         WHEREAS, An engaged citizen and a creative, dynamic
  businesswoman, Mariwyn Dye-Webb has earned the respect and
  admiration of all those who are privileged to know her, and she is
  most deserving of special recognition; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby honor Mariwyn Dye-Webb for her professional
  accomplishments and civic contributions and extend to her sincere
  best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mrs. Webb as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
