R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Bonnie Creel has been honored with a Tarrant County |
|
|
College (TCC) Chancellor's Award for Exemplary Teaching; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Given annually, the award is presented to one |
|
|
professor at each of the TCC campuses; the honoree for the Northeast |
|
|
Campus in Hurst, Mrs. Creel is a most deserving recipient, as she |
|
|
has distinguished herself as an educator of the highest caliber |
|
|
throughout her almost 18-year tenure with TCC; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mrs. Creel is a graduate of Texas Christian |
|
|
University and is currently pursuing her Ph.D.; she came to TCC |
|
|
after serving as a middle school teacher and as an associate |
|
|
professor at her alma mater; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Since joining TCC as an associate professor of |
|
|
speech communications and western civilization, Mrs. Creel has |
|
|
greatly benefited the college, tirelessly striving to provide her |
|
|
students with ample opportunities for personal, professional, and |
|
|
academic achievement; her contributions to the vitality of the |
|
|
school include the creation of a specialized speech course designed |
|
|
for individuals seeking careers in health care, as well as her work |
|
|
as the original faculty member of the Northeast Campus Cornerstone |
|
|
Honors program, which she served as director from 1996 to 2000; |
|
|
moreover, she has given of her time and talents as a faculty advisor |
|
|
for several student organizations, often taking her students to |
|
|
cities of cultural and historical significance, including our |
|
|
nation's capital, where she arranged for 10 students to participate |
|
|
in the Inside Washington '06 program; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, By showing sincere concern for each individual in |
|
|
her classes, Mrs. Creel has helped to put her students on a path to |
|
|
success, and she is most deserving of special recognition; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Bonnie Creel on receiving a Tarrant |
|
|
County College Chancellor's Award for Exemplary Teaching and extend |
|
|
to her best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mrs. Creel as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
