R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Bonnie Creel has been honored with a Tarrant County
  College (TCC) Chancellor's Award for Exemplary Teaching; and
         WHEREAS, Given annually, the award is presented to one
  professor at each of the TCC campuses; the honoree for the Northeast
  Campus in Hurst, Mrs. Creel is a most deserving recipient, as she
  has distinguished herself as an educator of the highest caliber
  throughout her almost 18-year tenure with TCC; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Creel is a graduate of Texas Christian
  University and is currently pursuing her Ph.D.; she came to TCC
  after serving as a middle school teacher and as an associate
  professor at her alma mater; and
         WHEREAS, Since joining TCC as an associate professor of
  speech communications and western civilization, Mrs. Creel has
  greatly benefited the college, tirelessly striving to provide her
  students with ample opportunities for personal, professional, and
  academic achievement; her contributions to the vitality of the
  school include the creation of a specialized speech course designed
  for individuals seeking careers in health care, as well as her work
  as the original faculty member of the Northeast Campus Cornerstone
  Honors program, which she served as director from 1996 to 2000;
  moreover, she has given of her time and talents as a faculty advisor
  for several student organizations, often taking her students to
  cities of cultural and historical significance, including our
  nation's capital, where she arranged for 10 students to participate
  in the Inside Washington '06 program; and
         WHEREAS, By showing sincere concern for each individual in
  her classes, Mrs. Creel has helped to put her students on a path to
  success, and she is most deserving of special recognition; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Bonnie Creel on receiving a Tarrant
  County College Chancellor's Award for Exemplary Teaching and extend
  to her best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mrs. Creel as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
