R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Chief Nolan Jonas has retired from the Karnes City |
|
|
Police Department after 34 years of distinguished public service; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This esteemed Texan joined the force in 1972 and |
|
|
became chief in 1981; working with the 81st Judicial District |
|
|
Narcotics Task Force, he made it his priority to find, arrest, and |
|
|
build a case against those involved with the drug trade, and by |
|
|
thwarting their operations, he contributed greatly to the safety of |
|
|
his fellow citizens and to the quality of life in his community; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Justifiably proud of the high morale in his |
|
|
department, Chief Jonas worked hard to ensure that the police |
|
|
officers who served under him had the support they needed to do |
|
|
their jobs, and he encouraged the sharing of experiences and |
|
|
laughter as ways of relieving the stress of that challenging |
|
|
profession; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The commitment demonstrated by Chief Nolan Jonas to |
|
|
the people of Karnes City and to their police force has impressed |
|
|
all who have witnessed his efforts, and he has earned the enduring |
|
|
gratitude of his community for his more than three decades of |
|
|
selfless public service; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby honor Nolan Jonas on his retirement from the |
|
|
office of Karnes City chief of police and extend to him best wishes |
|
|
for continued success in all his endeavors; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Chief Jonas as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
