R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The faculty, staff, and students of El Centro |
|
|
College in Dallas are celebrating the 40th anniversary of their |
|
|
institution throughout the 2006-2007 school year; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Founded in 1966, El Centro College is the flagship |
|
|
campus of the Dallas County Community College District and has |
|
|
provided its many students with outstanding educational |
|
|
opportunities since first opening its doors 40 years ago; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Today, under the leadership of interim president Dr. |
|
|
Michael Jackson, El Centro College remains dedicated to excellence |
|
|
by offering its diverse student body a number of educational |
|
|
programs in a challenging and nurturing environment; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, El Centro College has played a vital role in the |
|
|
Dallas community, and this vibrant urban institution will no doubt |
|
|
continue to be of tremendous service to area Texans, creating |
|
|
lifelong learners and providing countless individuals with the |
|
|
skills they need to enjoy happy and productive lives; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate all associated with El Centro |
|
|
College on its 40th anniversary and extend to them best wishes for |
|
|
the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the college as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
