R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, The distinguished tenure of Philip Brooks Harrison |
|
as mayor of Bellville is drawing to a close in May 2007, and his |
|
retirement provides a fitting opportunity to recognize his |
|
leadership and dedication; and |
|
WHEREAS, For two decades, this outstanding public servant has |
|
been a member of the city council, serving as an alderman for more |
|
than 10 years, as mayor pro tempore for six years, and as mayor |
|
since 1999; and |
|
WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mayor Harrison enjoys the love |
|
and support of his wife, Jeanette Gaskamp Harrison, and his sons, |
|
James and John Harrison; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mayor Harrison's vision and direction have |
|
immeasurably enhanced the quality of life for countless residents |
|
of Bellville, and it is a pleasure to commend him for his |
|
achievements as he begins the next chapter of his life; now, |
|
therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
Legislature herby honor Mayor Philip Brooks Harrison for his |
|
exemplary public service and his myriad contributions in behalf of |
|
area residents; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mayor Harrison as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
