R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Residents of Alpine are mourning the loss of
  longtime resident and friend Bobbie Ellen McDaniel, who passed away
  on January 26, 2007; and
         WHEREAS, Born on November 2, 1931, in Wakeeney, Kansas, the
  former Bobbie Jacka graduated from Odessa High School; she married
  Jack McDaniel on August 28, 1950, and the couple subsequently spent
  two years in Japan while Mr. McDaniel served in the U.S. Air Force;
  and
         WHEREAS, In the early 1970s, the McDaniels moved to Alpine,
  where Mrs. McDaniel joined the staff of Sul Ross State University as
  the athletic secretary; known as "Mom" to countless
  student-athletes, she was beloved by many for her sympathetic ear
  and kind advice; in 1986, she received the first Bar-SR-Bar
  Employee Excellence Award, and following her retirement in 1997,
  she was inducted into the Sul Ross Hall of Honor; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. McDaniel shared nearly 55 years with her
  husband before his passing, and she was the proud mother and
  grandmother of a daughter, Kellie, a son-in-law, Andrew, and two
  granddaughters, Hailey Grace and Rylie Hope; and
         WHEREAS, Bobbie McDaniel uplifted others with her bright
  smile and generosity of spirit, and those who were fortunate enough
  to have known her will long cherish their memories of time spent in
  her company; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Bobbie Ellen McDaniel
  and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her
  daughter, Kellie Powell; to her son-in-law, Andrew Powell; to her
  granddaughters, Hailey Grace and Rylie Hope Powell; to her sister,
  Billie Morgan; and to her other relatives and many friends; and, be
  it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Bobbie
  Ellen McDaniel.
