R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The dedicated men and women who put their lives on |
|
|
the line to protect their fellow citizens are truly deserving of |
|
|
every Texan's gratitude and admiration, and over the course of |
|
|
nearly 20 years with the Dallas Police Department, Officer Steve |
|
|
Fuentes has distinguished himself as one such individual; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Officer Fuentes joined the Dallas PD in 1988; |
|
|
finishing first in his class in physical fitness, he demonstrated |
|
|
his commitment to the force right from the start, and his work with |
|
|
at-risk youth through the PAL boxing league led to his nomination |
|
|
for Rookie of the Year; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Through the years, he has continued to earn a number |
|
|
of well-deserved commendations while also volunteering his time to |
|
|
help others, serving as a Boy Scout troop leader, assisting area |
|
|
senior citizens in need, and establishing a flag football league to |
|
|
provide a healthy activity for local kids; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In devoting his time to the difficult and demanding |
|
|
vocation of police work, Steve Fuentes has become an invaluable |
|
|
member of the community who is appreciated and admired by many |
|
|
people; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby honor Officer Steve Fuentes for his |
|
|
distinguished public service and extend to him sincere best wishes |
|
|
for the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Officer Fuentes as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
