R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, A golden wedding anniversary is truly cause for |
|
|
celebration, and Leon and Mackie Shippy of Quinlan commemorated |
|
|
this special event on February 10, 2007; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The couple were joined in matrimony in 1957 at a |
|
|
ceremony held in Ardmore, Oklahoma; they have since welcomed into |
|
|
their family three beloved children, Marlene, Arden, and Lori; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Now retired, Mr. Shippy enjoyed a successful career |
|
|
with E-Systems, and Mrs. Shippy dedicated herself to her home and |
|
|
family, creating a warm and loving environment for their children; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The five decades that this devoted couple have |
|
|
shared is eloquent affirmation of the meaning of love and |
|
|
commitment, and their enduring union is an inspiration to their |
|
|
family and circle of friends; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Leon and Mackie Shippy on their |
|
|
50th wedding anniversary and extend to them best wishes for the |
|
|
future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the couple as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
