R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Canton Civic Center is hosting the 10th annual |
|
|
East Texas Baptist Campmeeting from July 16 to July 20, 2007, and |
|
|
this occasion will be enjoyed by hundreds of East Texas residents; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Founded and moderated by Evangelist Dennis K. Erwin, |
|
|
the East Texas Baptist Campmeeting is inspired by the camp meetings |
|
|
of yesteryear, when groups of like-minded citizens would come |
|
|
together to worship in a camp-like setting; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A combination revival meeting, evangelistic |
|
|
outreach, and Bible conference, the East Texas Baptist Campmeeting |
|
|
is one of the largest weeklong meetings of its kind in East Texas; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Upwards of 800 souls come together each night to |
|
|
preach, pray, and sing, and this uplifting event continues to have a |
|
|
positive impact in the lives of many East Texas residents; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby recognize the 10th anniversary of the East Texas |
|
|
Baptist Campmeeting and extend best wishes to Evangelist Dennis |
|
|
Erwin and his supporters for another successful and memorable |
|
|
meeting; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Brother Erwin and his ministry as an expression of high |
|
|
regard by the Texas House of Representatives. |
