R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The dedicated men and women who put their lives on |
|
|
the line to protect their fellow citizens are truly deserving of |
|
|
every Texan's gratitude and admiration, and over the course of |
|
|
nearly 20 years with the Dallas Police Department, Officer Kevin |
|
|
Ellis has distinguished himself as one such individual; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Officer Ellis joined the Dallas police in 1989, and |
|
|
he served with diligence and integrity in the patrol and narcotics |
|
|
units before being chosen for a community policing pilot program; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, His outstanding work has earned him a number of |
|
|
commendations over the years, and in his free time, he gives back to |
|
|
his fellow residents by mentoring local youth and assisting area |
|
|
senior citizens in need; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In devoting himself to the difficult and demanding |
|
|
field of police work, Kevin Ellis has secured his stature as an |
|
|
invaluable member of the community, and he is truly deserving of |
|
|
special recognition; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby honor Officer Kevin Ellis for his distinguished |
|
|
public service and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; |
|
|
and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Officer Ellis as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
