R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, The dedicated members of the Northwest Forest |
|
Republican Women have played an active role in the political and |
|
civic affairs of Harris County for more than three decades; and |
|
WHEREAS, Since its establishment on June 6, 1974, by |
|
Priscilla Petty, participants in this Northwest Houston |
|
organization have contributed thousands of hours of volunteer |
|
service in support of Republican candidates and causes; and |
|
WHEREAS, Under the leadership of current president Sylvia |
|
Manley, the group continues that tradition of active participation |
|
in the political process, with fund-raising projects and efforts to |
|
encourage citizens to vote, as well as the establishment of an |
|
annual scholarship for a female high school graduate; and |
|
WHEREAS, Through their service to the community and their |
|
continuing efforts to effect positive change, the members of the |
|
Northwest Forest Republican Women are making a lasting contribution |
|
to the Lone Star State; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby recognize the Northwest Forest Republican Women |
|
and extend best wishes to the members of this fine organization; |
|
and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for the Northwest Forest Republican Women as an expression |
|
of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives. |
