R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Bee Cave Mayor Caroline Murphy was named Citizen of |
|
|
the Year by the Lake Travis Chamber of Commerce at the annual |
|
|
Community Awards Banquet on January 27, 2007; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Having earned a bachelor of science degree in |
|
|
nursing and psychology from the Mississippi University for Women |
|
|
and a master of science degree in nursing from The University of |
|
|
Texas at Austin, Caroline Murphy entered the health care profession |
|
|
nearly 30 years ago as a critical care nurse; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Murphy has worked as a clinical nurse and has |
|
|
taught junior college and hospital nursing courses; a gifted |
|
|
administrator, she is now the vice president, chief operating |
|
|
officer, and ethics and compliance officer of St. David's Medical |
|
|
Center in Austin; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Having excelled in her professional life, she has |
|
|
also served her community as mayor of Bee Cave since 1999, helping |
|
|
to guide the city through a challenging time of unprecedented |
|
|
growth; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Citizen of the Year Award recognizes an |
|
|
individual who makes an ongoing contribution to the community; |
|
|
Mayor Caroline Murphy has demonstrated professionalism, integrity, |
|
|
and commitment and has helped to make a better and stronger future |
|
|
for Bee Cave; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Caroline Murphy on being named |
|
|
Citizen of the Year by the Lake Travis Chamber of Commerce and |
|
|
extend to her best wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Murphy as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
