R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Steve Vinson was deservedly honored at the State
  Partnership Awards Banquet of the Texas Association of Partners in
  Education in January 2007 when he was presented with the Gold Award
  for a medium district and the Texas Small Business Partnership
  Award for the contributions of his restaurant, Chick-fil-A of
  Hurst, in behalf of local students; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Vinson purchased his first Chick-fil-A
  restaurant in 1988, and he has since added three more locations in
  the area; a man who believes in giving back to the community, he has
  demonstrated his dedication to enhancing public education through
  his long-standing support of the Hurst-Euless-Bedford Independent
  School District; and
         WHEREAS, A district adopter, this caring gentleman has
  benefited all 30 schools in the district and given generously of his
  time and expertise to serve as chair of the Adopt-A-School Program
  for two years; his genuine desire to help others has resulted in
  thousands of dollars in donations and clothing for the needy, and
  among those helped by his charitable efforts were 350 children who
  were fleeing hurricane-ravaged homes; and
         WHEREAS, Far from restricting his support to the H-E-B ISD
  alone, he is also a supporter of Birdville ISD, Metroport Meals on
  Wheels, and the Cook Children's Health Care System; and
         WHEREAS, Some people leave an unmistakable mark on the world
  as they move through it, and Steve Vinson's remarkable generosity
  continues to make a positive difference in the lives of countless
  people; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Steve Vinson on his receipt of the
  2007 Texas Small Business Partnership Award and the Gold Award for a
  medium district from the Texas Association of Partners in Education
  and honor him for his many good works and deeds; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Vinson as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
