R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The tragic death of U.S. Army Sergeant Daniel Lee
  Galvan on August 12, 2004, in Afghanistan, brought a great loss to
  all who were privileged to know this brave soldier; and
         WHEREAS, A native of Mercedes, Sergeant Galvan followed in
  the footsteps of his father and brothers when he joined the
  military; he served with distinction as a pilot and member of the
  2nd Battalion, 25th Aviation Regiment, 25th Light Infantry
  Division; and
         WHEREAS, Daniel Galvan's energetic and optimistic
  personality endeared him to his family and friends, and his bravery
  inspired a community; through his unwavering dedication to duty and
  honor, Sergeant Galvan embodied the highest ideals of the armed
  services, and the memory of his love and friendship will always be
  treasured by those who were privileged to know him; now, therefore,
  be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of U.S. Army Sergeant
  Daniel Lee Galvan and extend deepest sympathy to all those who mourn
  his passing; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of U.S. Army
  Sergeant Daniel Lee Galvan.
