R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The Barbecue, Beans, and Blarney celebration is
  taking place in Dublin on June 22 and 23, 2007; and
         WHEREAS, Hosted by the Dublin Chamber of Commerce, Barbecue,
  Beans, and Blarney is a popular annual event that includes a
  barbecue competition as well as an antique tractor pull, a softball
  tournament, and other activities; and
         WHEREAS, The first celebration was held in 1999, and the
  Dublin cook-off has quickly gained a reputation for good times and
  great barbecue; an average of 45 entrants compete each year in four
  food categories: brisket, pork spare ribs, chicken, and pinto
  beans; cash prizes go to the first-place through fifth-place
  finishers, with a panel of as many as 100 judges deciding the
  winners; and
         WHEREAS, An exciting and enjoyable event for all, Barbecue,
  Beans, and Blarney is a top-notch showcase for the delicious
  barbecue specialties that are so much a part of Texas culture; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby commemorate the 2007 Barbecue, Beans, and
  Blarney celebration being held in Dublin and extend best wishes to
  the contestants and attendees for a satisfying and successful
  event; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the organizers as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
