R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Sidney and Mary Frey of Alleyton are celebrating |
|
|
their 60th wedding anniversary on April 15, 2007, marking a |
|
|
memorable milestone in their life together; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A U.S. Navy World War II veteran, Sidney Louis Frey |
|
|
married the former Mary Agusta Jones in 1947 at a ceremony held at |
|
|
St. Roch Catholic Church in Mentz; they have raised three children, |
|
|
Earl Frey, Carolyn Psencik, and Patty Stavinoha, and have welcomed |
|
|
seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren into their |
|
|
family; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Lifetime residents of Colorado County, the Freys |
|
|
live on their family's farm, which has been recognized by the Texas |
|
|
Family Land Heritage Program; while meeting the demands of running |
|
|
a sustainable agricultural business, both Mr. and Mrs. Frey have |
|
|
also conducted other careers; Mr. Frey has been employed as an oil |
|
|
field roughneck, a storeowner, a mechanic, and a foreman, and has |
|
|
for many years taught auto mechanics at Rice High School; a |
|
|
dedicated homemaker and accomplished baker, Mrs. Frey has worked as |
|
|
a cosmetics salesperson and consultant; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In addition to their family and careers, the Freys |
|
|
have found time to serve and support their community, and they are |
|
|
active members of St. Roch Catholic Church and supporters of the |
|
|
Bernardo Volunteer Fire Department; moreover, Mr. Frey is a member |
|
|
of the American Legion, the St. Roch Knights of Columbus, the |
|
|
American Rifle Association, and the Texas Hay Association; Mrs. |
|
|
Frey shares her time and talents with the St. Roch Altar Society and |
|
|
the Catholic Daughters of the Americas and has further served the |
|
|
community as an election judge and clerk; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, For 60 years, Sidney and Mary Frey have shared an |
|
|
enduring union that stands as an affirmation of the meaning of love |
|
|
and commitment and as a source of inspiration to their family and |
|
|
friends; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby honor Sidney and Mary Frey on the occasion of |
|
|
their 60th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best |
|
|
wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Frey as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
