R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, A 100th birthday is truly cause for celebration, and
  Dollie Howle of Quitman marked this momentous event in her life on
  December 9, 2006; and
         WHEREAS, A native of Hopkins County and the eighth of 11
  children born to her parents, Mrs. Howle moved to Wood County at the
  age of 10, and she has resided there for most of her life; and
         WHEREAS, She is the widow of Terrell Howle, a farmer and
  Baptist preacher, with whom she shared 51 years of marriage until
  his passing; together they raised seven children, and while tending
  to her home and to her family, Mrs. Howle also worked the fields
  alongside her husband, never shying away from mending fences or
  taking on any other challenging task that needed to be done; and
         WHEREAS, This beloved woman embraces life to the fullest; an
  accomplished pianist, she continues to enjoy fishing and playing
  bingo and dominoes, specifically "42," a game in which she seldom
  can be beat; she excels at quiltmaking as well, and she has created
  and given away many beautiful quilts through the years that are
  destined to become treasured family heirlooms; and
         WHEREAS, With her wisdom, warmth, and good humor, Dollie
  Howle enriches the lives of her family and friends, and she remains
  an inspiration to all who know her; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Dollie Howle on her 100th birthday
  and extend to this remarkable Texan best wishes for continued
  happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mrs. Howle as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
