R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The family and friends of Army Specialist Robert
  Tipp, Jr., of Lake Jackson suffered an immeasurable loss with the
  death of this valiant soldier on March 27, 2005, at the age of 20;
  and
         WHEREAS, Born on May 7, 1984, Robert Tipp was active in youth
  football and soccer as a child and grew up to enjoy hunting,
  fishing, and racing; he attended Brazoswood High School, where he
  played football and participated in the FFA, and he later graduated
  from Seaborne Challenge Corps in Galveston on December 23, 2000;
  and
         WHEREAS, He joined the United States Army on August 16, 2001,
  receiving his basic training at Fort Knox, Kentucky, and his
  advanced training at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland; and
         WHEREAS, A proud member of the 515th Forward Support
  Battalion, 1st Calvary Division, Specialist Tipp served two
  six-month tours in Operation Iraqi Freedom II as part of the Charlie
  Company Outlaws, Maintenance Platoon, in Camp Falcon, Baghdad,
  Iraq, after being deployed from Fort Hood on March 9, 2004; and
         WHEREAS, Returning home to Texas on March 23, 2005, this fine
  young man believed strongly in helping his fellow man and had
  dreamed of continuing his service to others by becoming a police
  officer; and
         WHEREAS, Our state and nation are fortunate to have men and
  women whose love of country inspires them to take up military
  service; Specialist Robert Tipp, Jr., embodied the highest ideals
  of the U.S. Armed Forces, and those who knew and loved him will
  forever carry him close in their hearts; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay special tribute to the life of Specialist
  Robert Tipp, Jr., and extend deepest sympathy to the members of his
  family: to his parents, Robert and Gail Tipp; to his sister,
  Jennifer Tipp; to his grandparents, Bill and Delores Tipp and Gene
  and Helen Morgan; to his great-grandparents, Clifford and Marie
  Payne; and to his other family members and friends; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Army
  Specialist Robert Tipp, Jr.
