R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, The passing of the Honorable Judge Doug Ryburn of |
|
Brownfield on February 11, 2007, at the age of 74, brought a |
|
profound loss to the family and to the county served by this |
|
well-respected gentleman; and |
|
WHEREAS, Doug Ryburn served Brownfield, Texas as a member of |
|
the City Council for two terms and as Mayor Pro-Tem; and |
|
WHEREAS, He served the citizens of Terry County as County |
|
Judge from January 1, 1991 until his passing; and |
|
WHEREAS, He served the entire South Plains area as Chairman |
|
of the Board for the South Plains Association of Governments and as |
|
a member of the MHMR Board; and |
|
WHEREAS, The life and works of County Judge Doug Ryburn were |
|
recognized when in 1999 he was selected Terry County Citizen of the |
|
year; |
|
WHEREAS, This estimable gentleman earned a special place in |
|
the hearts of countless people; although Judge Ryburn will be |
|
deeply missed, his memory will continue to live on in the memories |
|
of all those whose lives he touched; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Doug Ryburn and extend |
|
sincere sympathy to the members of his family: his beloved wife, |
|
Waneta; his son, Eddie; and his daughters Debra Adkins and Patti |
|
Law; to his six grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and his |
|
three brothers Robert, Leroy and Glenn; and his three sisters Mary |
|
Lou Matthews, Gladys Wilson and Shirley LaMons; and be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for the members of his family and that when the Texas House |
|
of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in the memory of |
|
Judge Doug Ryburn. |
