R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, March 29, 2007, is Women in Longview Day, and this
  unique annual event, now in its 20th year, offers local residents
  and women from surrounding communities the opportunity to network
  with each other in an informative and spirited forum; and
         WHEREAS, Including seminars, exhibits, and a keynote address
  by Suzie Woodward Morris, Women in Longview Day features topics
  that touch on individuals' personal, social, and economic
  interests; and
         WHEREAS, "The Best You Can Be" is the theme of this year's
  special day, which aims to assess and improve the status of all
  women in the Longview area; the event also celebrates March as
  National Women's History Month and encourages participants, as well
  as area schools and worksites, to recognize the achievements of
  women and to applaud the myriad ways in which they serve as role
  models and community leaders; in addition, three $1,000
  scholarships will be awarded to deserving young students; and
         WHEREAS, This occasion will once again spotlight the many
  contributions the women of Longview make in the lives of others each
  and every day, and it is indeed a pleasure to honor all its
  participants; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby recognize March 29, 2007, as Women in Longview
  Day and extend to each person involved in this important observance
  best wishes for a successful and memorable celebration.
