R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, A 50th wedding anniversary is a landmark event for a |
|
|
couple, and Elizario G. Apodaca and Matilde Carbajal Apodaca of |
|
|
Socorro are marking this momentous occasion on March 3, 2007; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, "Chayo" and Matilde Apodaca exchanged vows in their |
|
|
hometown of Socorro at La Purisima Church, the place where both had |
|
|
been baptized and received first Communion as children; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Serving her family, Mrs. Apodaca has been a |
|
|
homemaker for her entire married life; Mr. Apodaca is retired from |
|
|
careers in civil service and work with the Socorro Independent |
|
|
School District; he served as an alderman for the city, and he |
|
|
helped to form and has been an active participant in the local |
|
|
volunteer fire department; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Apodaca count among their blessings a |
|
|
fine family that includes four daughters and one son, Rebecca A. |
|
|
Lujan and her husband, Gilbert, Delia Schwartz and her husband, |
|
|
Ken, Gina Moss and her husband, Henry, Roland Apodaca and his wife, |
|
|
Ceci, and Valerie Martinez and her husband, Henry; with the passing |
|
|
of years, their family has grown to include five grandchildren; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This couple's steadfast love and faith are a |
|
|
continuing source of joy and inspiration for those who know them, |
|
|
and it is a pleasure to honor them for their enduring commitment; |
|
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Elizario G. Apodaca and Matilde |
|
|
Carbajal Apodaca on their golden wedding anniversary and extend to |
|
|
them best wishes for continued happiness together; and, be it |
|
|
further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Apodaca as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
