R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, A 50th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of love |
|
and shared experiences, and Dale and Sandra Bebee of Ozona are |
|
celebrating this joyous occasion on March 16, 2007; and |
|
WHEREAS, Literally knocked off his feet by his bride-to-be, |
|
Mr. Bebee met his future wife in Hobbs, New Mexico, when the former |
|
Sandra Sue Carter flung open the door to the Immanuel Baptist |
|
Church, just as he was about to enter the building; and |
|
WHEREAS, The couple married in 1957, at a ceremony held in the |
|
same church that facilitated their fateful meeting; they have since |
|
been blessed with three daughters, Belinda, Karen, and Kimberly, as |
|
well as their cherished grandchildren; and |
|
WHEREAS, For more than 40 years, Mr. Bebee enjoyed a |
|
successful career in the oil and gas industry, working in Hobbs, |
|
Odessa, and Ozona before a transfer to Oklahoma, where he was |
|
eventually promoted to area manager of operations for Ladd |
|
Petroleum; in 1994, he and his wife returned to Ozona, where their |
|
family had earlier spent many happy years; Mr. Bebee operated his |
|
own consulting business before retiring in 1999; and |
|
WHEREAS, In addition to being a devoted wife and mother, Mrs. |
|
Bebee has played an active role in her community; a charter member |
|
of and pianist for Belvue Baptist Church in Hobbs, she was a Brownie |
|
Girl Scout leader in Odessa and a tireless volunteer in Ozona, where |
|
she was recognized as an outstanding leader by the city's youth |
|
center; she continues her community involvement today as a member |
|
of numerous clubs and organizations, including the Crockett County |
|
Care Center, which she serves as a board member, and together she |
|
and her husband enjoy traveling and spending time with family and |
|
friends; and |
|
WHEREAS, Sandy and Dale Bebee have shared five decades of |
|
abiding love and affection for one another, and they are among an |
|
exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting |
|
commitment; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Dale and Sandra Bebee on their |
|
golden wedding anniversary and extend to them warmest best wishes |
|
for the future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Bebee as an expression of high regard by |
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
