R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, December 9, 2006, marked the 50th wedding |
|
anniversary of Art and Nan Oestmann of Midland, and this joyous |
|
event provides a fitting opportunity to reflect on their memorable |
|
journey together as husband and wife; and |
|
WHEREAS, Art Oestmann and the former Nan Lea were joined in |
|
matrimony in 1956 in a ceremony held in Brookhaven, Mississippi; |
|
through the years, they have been blessed with a treasured family |
|
that includes two children and their spouses, Melissa and Neal |
|
Engleman and Michael and Cathy Oestmann, and four granddaughters; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Oestmann is a geophysicist who worked with |
|
Humble Oil, Hunt Energy, and Coastal Corporation before founding |
|
Nanlea Oil Company, and Mrs. Oestmann is a registered nurse who |
|
retired from HospiceMidland; in addition to career and family |
|
responsibilities, they have been valued members of Westway Church |
|
of Christ, where Mr. Oestmann serves as an elder; and |
|
WHEREAS, The steadfast love that Mr. and Mrs. Oestmann share |
|
for one another is based on mutual affection and respect that has |
|
grown during their five decades of matrimony, and they are among a |
|
select and truly exceptional group of men and women who can claim |
|
such a lasting commitment; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Art and Nan Oestmann on their |
|
golden wedding anniversary and extend to them best wishes for |
|
continued happiness together; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Oestmann as an expression of high regard |
|
by the Texas House of Representatives. |
