R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Sharon Butterworth was inducted into the El Paso
  Commission for Women Hall of Fame on March 9, 2007; and
         WHEREAS, Established in 1985, the commission is composed of
  El Paso citizens who are committed to the pursuit of equal rights
  and responsibilities for all women; inductees to the organization's
  Hall of Fame are recognized in one of five categories, including
  professional and public service, arts, education, and civic
  leadership; and
         WHEREAS, Selected for the public service category, Ms.
  Butterworth has distinguished herself on the board of the Texas
  Department of Mental Health and Mental Retardation, and she may
  take justifiable pride in the role she played to ensure that El Paso
  mental health consumers now have a voice in their treatment with a
  choice of providers and quality services available; and
         WHEREAS, The strength of our communities and the vitality of
  the State of Texas depend on the dedication of women like Sharon
  Butterworth; she uses her considerable talents and generous spirit
  to serve others, and it is a pleasure to join the commission in
  honoring her; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Sharon Butterworth on her
  induction into the El Paso Commission for Women Hall of Fame and
  extend to her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Butterworth as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
