R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Sharon Butterworth was inducted into the El Paso |
|
Commission for Women Hall of Fame on March 9, 2007; and |
|
WHEREAS, Established in 1985, the commission is composed of |
|
El Paso citizens who are committed to the pursuit of equal rights |
|
and responsibilities for all women; inductees to the organization's |
|
Hall of Fame are recognized in one of five categories, including |
|
professional and public service, arts, education, and civic |
|
leadership; and |
|
WHEREAS, Selected for the public service category, Ms. |
|
Butterworth has distinguished herself on the board of the Texas |
|
Department of Mental Health and Mental Retardation, and she may |
|
take justifiable pride in the role she played to ensure that El Paso |
|
mental health consumers now have a voice in their treatment with a |
|
choice of providers and quality services available; and |
|
WHEREAS, The strength of our communities and the vitality of |
|
the State of Texas depend on the dedication of women like Sharon |
|
Butterworth; she uses her considerable talents and generous spirit |
|
to serve others, and it is a pleasure to join the commission in |
|
honoring her; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Sharon Butterworth on her |
|
induction into the El Paso Commission for Women Hall of Fame and |
|
extend to her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Ms. Butterworth as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
