R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Since its inception in 2003, Impact Austin has made
  invaluable contributions to the community it serves, and its
  members merit special recognition for their outstanding service;
  and
         WHEREAS, This nonprofit organization is composed of 416
  women who are dedicated to upholding the organization's mission of
  making a difference in the Austin area through high-impact and
  lifelong giving; and
         WHEREAS, Each year, the members of Impact Austin fund grants
  that are then awarded to selected programs and projects of benefit
  to the community; as of 2006, these exceptional Texans have raised
  more than $650,000, which has gone on to assist Austin Travis County
  Mental Health Mental Retardation Center, LifeWorks, The Children's
  Wellness Center, EmanciPet, Inc., Communities In Schools, and
  Literacy Austin; they plan on donating more than $400,000 for their
  2007 grants, bringing their total amount of money given to over $1
  million; and
         WHEREAS, All those associated with Impact Austin have
  exemplified a praiseworthy commitment to bettering the quality of
  life for their neighbors, and their inspiring efforts are indeed
  worthy of special commendation; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby honor the members of Impact Austin for their
  important work in behalf of their community and extend to them best
  wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Impact Austin as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
