R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Members of Leadership Killeen are visiting the State |
|
|
Capitol on March 21, 2007, to gain further insight into the workings |
|
|
of state government; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Established in 1986 by the Greater Killeen Chamber |
|
|
of Commerce, this exceptional program provides opportunities for |
|
|
Killeen residents to increase their knowledge of vital public |
|
|
issues and to meet with the legislators and local officials who are |
|
|
making decisions that affect this state; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Sessions throughout the yearlong program are |
|
|
designed to acquaint participants with local issues and to |
|
|
encourage them to become vigorous, skilled, and effective |
|
|
contributors to the growth and direction of their communities; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Endeavoring to foster a more informed and involved |
|
|
citizenry and to develop new leaders in Killeen, the program is |
|
|
helping to build a brighter and more promising future for the Lone |
|
|
Star State; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby recognize March 21, 2007, as Leadership Killeen |
|
|
Day at the State Capitol and extend to all visitors from Leadership |
|
|
Killeen sincere best wishes for continued success. |
