R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, A 50th wedding anniversary is a landmark event for
  any couple, and James E. and Doris Baird marked this momentous
  occasion on January 16, 2007; and
         WHEREAS, Married at the LeTourneau University Chapel in
  Longview, "Ed" Baird and the former Doris Jackson lived in several
  different states before returning to Texas; Mr. Baird retired from
  Eastman Chemical Company in 1992, and today both he and his wife are
  valued congregants of Alpine Presbyterian Church; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Baird count among their blessings a
  fine family that includes two sons, Curt and Sean, a
  daughter-in-law, Michelle, and three grandchildren, Gavin, Maddie,
  and Collin; and
         WHEREAS, The couple's steadfast love is a continuing source
  of joy and inspiration for those who know them, and it is a pleasure
  to honor them for their enduring commitment; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate James E. and Doris Baird on their
  50th anniversary and extend to them best wishes for the future; and,
  be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Baird as an expression of high regard by
  the Texas House of Representatives.
