R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, A 50th wedding anniversary is a landmark event for |
|
|
any couple, and James E. and Doris Baird marked this momentous |
|
|
occasion on January 16, 2007; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Married at the LeTourneau University Chapel in |
|
|
Longview, "Ed" Baird and the former Doris Jackson lived in several |
|
|
different states before returning to Texas; Mr. Baird retired from |
|
|
Eastman Chemical Company in 1992, and today both he and his wife are |
|
|
valued congregants of Alpine Presbyterian Church; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Baird count among their blessings a |
|
|
fine family that includes two sons, Curt and Sean, a |
|
|
daughter-in-law, Michelle, and three grandchildren, Gavin, Maddie, |
|
|
and Collin; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The couple's steadfast love is a continuing source |
|
|
of joy and inspiration for those who know them, and it is a pleasure |
|
|
to honor them for their enduring commitment; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate James E. and Doris Baird on their |
|
|
50th anniversary and extend to them best wishes for the future; and, |
|
|
be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Baird as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
