R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Morris and Lois Belote of Longview celebrated their
  50th wedding anniversary on January 4, 2007, and this joyous event
  provides a fitting opportunity to reflect on their memorable
  journey together as husband and wife; and
         WHEREAS, Married in the First Baptist Church in Clovis, New
  Mexico, both Mr. Belote and the former Lois Carpenter were born and
  raised in Texas; Mr. Belote worked on oil wells for a wireline
  service company for many years, and Mrs. Belote was employed as a
  church secretary;  after retiring in 2005, the happy couple moved to
  Longview, where they attend Mobberly Baptist Church and are active
  in several church ministries; Mrs. Belote also stays busy keeping
  up with her 1953 Memphis High School classmates and publishes a
  quarterly newspaper detailing recent activities and events; and
         WHEREAS, The parents of two children, Don and Dequita, the
  Belotes also take great pride in their grandchildren, Austin and
  Rachel; and
         WHEREAS, The couple's commitment to their faith and to their
  marriage is an inspiration to all those dear to them, and the
  special occasion of a golden anniversary provides a fitting
  opportunity to honor them; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Morris and Lois Belote on their
  50th wedding anniversary and extend to them best wishes for
  continued happiness together; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Belote as an expression of high regard by
  the Texas House of Representatives.
