R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |
|
by a great and enduring love, Harold C. and Ella M. Robertson of |
|
Houston are celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary on April 22, |
|
2007; and |
|
WHEREAS, Natives of New Orleans, Mr. and Mrs. Robertson have |
|
nurtured a close and fulfilling marriage that has been made even |
|
richer with the addition of seven children, Carolyn, Patricia, |
|
Althea, Gaynell, Earline, Robin, and Michael, as well as six |
|
grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Robertson served in the merchant marine for many |
|
years while Mrs. Robertson was employed by religious organizations |
|
in New Orleans and, later, in Houston after the couple relocated to |
|
Texas; since retiring, they enjoy traveling and relaxing at home; |
|
they practice their faith as members of St. John's Downtown in |
|
Houston; and |
|
WHEREAS, Having witnessed innumerable changes in the world |
|
over the past seven decades, this devoted husband and wife have |
|
taken comfort in the reassuring strength of their love, and the |
|
steadfast support they provide to one another has allowed them to |
|
meet life's challenges and opportunities with grace and |
|
determination; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby honor Harold C. and Ella M. Robertson on their |
|
70th wedding anniversary and extend to them best wishes for |
|
continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Robertson as an expression of high regard |
|
by the Texas House of Representatives. |
