R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Otto and Ida Lisenbee of Lamesa are celebrating an |
|
|
extraordinary milestone in their long and happy marriage with the |
|
|
commemoration of their 75th wedding anniversary on May 8, 2007; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Otto Lisenbee was captivated with the former Ida |
|
|
Daniels from the first time he saw her beautiful hair shining under |
|
|
the lights at church, and since that time the couple have nurtured a |
|
|
strong bond that continues to grow ever deeper with each passing |
|
|
year; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Lisenbee were fortunate to work |
|
|
together for many years at Camp Arrowhead, where she served as the |
|
|
resident dietitian and he served as a part-time manager and handled |
|
|
maintenance duties for the camp; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The pair have been committed to helping those in |
|
|
need, and Mr. Lisenbee has traveled hundreds of miles to take sick |
|
|
and elderly neighbors on shopping trips and to medical |
|
|
appointments; he and his wife are longtime members of the community |
|
|
of faith at the Church of the Nazarene, where Mrs. Lisenbee has |
|
|
taught Sunday school and Mr. Lisenbee has greeted members and |
|
|
visitors before worship; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, For three quarters of a century, Otto and Ida |
|
|
Lisenbee have shared life's many rewards and challenges, and their |
|
|
enduring union is eloquent testimony to the meaning of love and |
|
|
commitment; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby honor Otto and Ida Lisenbee on the joyous |
|
|
occasion of their 75th wedding anniversary and extend to them |
|
|
sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Lisenbee as an expression of high regard |
|
|
by the Texas House of Representatives. |
