R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |
|
|
by a great and enduring love, Juan and Ofelia Lucio of Lamesa |
|
|
celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on December 15, 2006; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Juan Lucio and the former Ofelia Martina Melendez |
|
|
were united in matrimony in 1956 in Lamesa; they have nurtured a |
|
|
close and fulfilling marriage that has been made even richer with |
|
|
the addition of their 15 children, 33 grandchildren, and two |
|
|
great-grandchildren; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Lucio worked for Lamesa Delinting Company for |
|
|
many years and retired in 1996; Mrs. Lucio is a homemaker; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Having witnessed innumerable changes in the world |
|
|
over the past half-century, this devoted husband and wife have |
|
|
taken comfort in the reassuring strength of their love, and the |
|
|
steadfast support they provide to one another has allowed them to |
|
|
meet life's challenges and opportunities with grace and |
|
|
determination; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Juan and Ofelia Lucio on their |
|
|
golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes |
|
|
for continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Lucio as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
