R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Dick and Doris Stephens celebrated their 60th |
|
|
wedding anniversary on August 24, 2006, and they may indeed reflect |
|
|
with joy on the rewarding relationship they have shared; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Dick Stephens and the former Doris Shipp exchanged |
|
|
the vows of matrimony in Riverside, California, on that special day |
|
|
in 1946, and over the course of their marriage, they have found in |
|
|
each other a devoted life partner; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Longtime Lamesa residents, Mr. and Mrs. Stephens |
|
|
today reside in Lubbock, and they count among their blessings a fine |
|
|
family that includes their daughters, Paula Franklin and her |
|
|
husband, Wallace, and Linda Young and her husband, Jimmy, as well as |
|
|
three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren with whom they |
|
|
share the many special occasions of life; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, For six decades, Dick and Doris Stephens have |
|
|
together enjoyed laughter, kindness, and affection, and it is a |
|
|
pleasure to honor them for their enduring commitment; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Dick and Doris Stephens on their |
|
|
60th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for |
|
|
continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Stephens as an expression of high regard |
|
|
by the Texas House of Representatives. |
