R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Texas Dental Association and Texas Dental |
|
|
Association Smiles Foundation sponsored the 13th Texas Mission of |
|
|
Mercy in Dallas on February 16 and 17, 2007; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, During that period, the groups' charitable dental |
|
|
clinic administered much-needed oral health care to more than 920 |
|
|
Dallas County residents; nearly 80 dentists volunteered their |
|
|
services at the event, providing charitable care valued at more |
|
|
than $284,000; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Since its establishment, the Texas Mission of Mercy |
|
|
has provided more than 10,000 residents of the Lone Star State with |
|
|
charitable dental care worth over $3.2 million; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Texas Dental Association and Texas Dental |
|
|
Association Smiles Foundation continue to provide those in need |
|
|
with important access to dental care, thus contributing to the |
|
|
improved health and well-being of many people; now, therefore, be |
|
|
it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commend the members of the Texas Dental |
|
|
Association and Texas Dental Association Smiles Foundation for |
|
|
offering vital dental care to their fellow Texans through the Texas |
|
|
Mission of Mercy; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for these two groups as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
