R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |
|
|
by a great and enduring love, Larry and Wanda Smith of Gail |
|
|
celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on December 20, 2006; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Larry Smith and the former Wanda Cunningham were |
|
|
united in matrimony in Lovington, New Mexico, in 1956; they have |
|
|
nurtured a close and fulfilling marriage that has been made even |
|
|
richer with the addition of their children, Perry Smith and his |
|
|
wife, Kelly, and Kristy Pierce and her husband, Kurt; they also have |
|
|
five grandchildren and a great-grandchild; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Having witnessed innumerable changes in the world |
|
|
over the past half-century, this devoted husband and wife have |
|
|
taken comfort in the reassuring strength of their love, and the |
|
|
steadfast support they provide to one another has allowed them to |
|
|
meet life's challenges and opportunities with grace and |
|
|
determination; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Larry and Wanda Smith on their |
|
|
golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes |
|
|
for continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Smith as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
