R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |
|
|
by a great and enduring love, Jack and Marvel Goodwin of Midland |
|
|
celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on September 8, 2006; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Goodwin were united in matrimony in |
|
|
Jacksonville, Florida, in 1956; they have nurtured a close and |
|
|
fulfilling marriage that has been made even richer with the |
|
|
addition of two children and their spouses, Jan King and her |
|
|
husband, Bryan, and Wendy Roberson and her husband, Robby, as well |
|
|
as three grandchildren, Geoffrey, Kayla, and Kristin; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Goodwin is a retired geologist, and he and Mrs. |
|
|
Goodwin are active members of the First United Methodist Church of |
|
|
Midland; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Having witnessed innumerable changes in the world |
|
|
over the past half-century, this devoted husband and wife have |
|
|
taken comfort in the reassuring strength of their love, and the |
|
|
steadfast support they provide to one another has allowed them to |
|
|
meet life's challenges and opportunities with grace and |
|
|
determination; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Jack and Marvel Goodwin on their |
|
|
50th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for |
|
|
continued happiness together; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Goodwin as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
