R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |
|
|
by a great and enduring love, Bobby and Peggy Rogers celebrated |
|
|
their 50th wedding anniversary on August 11, 2006; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Rogers were united in matrimony at the |
|
|
First United Methodist Church in Wichita Falls in 1956; they have |
|
|
nurtured a close and fulfilling marriage that has been made even |
|
|
richer with the addition of two sons and their wives, Joe Rogers and |
|
|
his wife, Renie, and Mike Rogers and his wife, Glenda, as well as |
|
|
five grandchildren, Robert, Kari, Cameron, Brandon, and Hudson; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Rogers is retired from Texaco, Inc., and he and |
|
|
Mrs. Rogers are active members of First United Methodist Church of |
|
|
Midland; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Having witnessed innumerable changes in the world |
|
|
over the past half-century, this devoted husband and wife have |
|
|
taken comfort in the reassuring strength of their love, and the |
|
|
steadfast support they provide to one another has allowed them to |
|
|
meet life's challenges and opportunities with grace and |
|
|
determination; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Bobby and Peggy Rogers on their |
|
|
50th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for |
|
|
continued happiness together; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Rogers as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
