R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Victorious Life Church in Lewisville dedicated a new
  facility in March 2007, and this joyous milestone in the history of
  the church is indeed an occasion worthy of special recognition; and
         WHEREAS, Formerly named First Assembly of God, Carrollton,
  the church has been serving the spiritual needs and contributing to
  the social well-being of its community for more than 65 years; with
  its relocation to southern Lewisville, it has undergone a name
  change to Victorious Life Church, while retaining its affiliation
  with the Assemblies of God fellowship; and
         WHEREAS, The Reverend Mark Akers has ably guided the
  congregation since 1988; he brought to his current pastorate a
  wealth of experience gained through his previous service as pastor
  of First Assembly of God in Hamilton and as associate pastor of
  Bethel Assembly of God in Temple; his preparation also includes
  studies at Temple College, Rhema Bible Training Center, the Berean
  School of the Bible, and Baylor University; and
         WHEREAS, Reverend Akers, his wife, Sharon, their children,
  Matthew, Nathan, and Bradley, and the entire congregation may look
  to the future with anticipation and joy as they continue their
  spiritual journey in their new church home, which stands today as a
  tribute to the dedication of its members, past and present, who have
  devoted their time, energy, and financial resources to ensure its
  continued existence as a house of God; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate the Reverend Mark Akers and the
  members of Victorious Life Church on the completion of their new
  facility and commend them for their outstanding contributions to
  the spiritual enrichment of their community; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the church as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
