R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Keith Hopkins of the Mesquite Fire Department has |
|
|
been named the department's 2007 Firefighter of the Year, and his |
|
|
receipt of this well-deserved accolade offers a fitting opportunity |
|
|
to honor this esteemed public servant; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A member of the department since October 1999, Keith |
|
|
Hopkins was promoted to driver/engineer in February 2005 and |
|
|
currently serves as the group's assistant chaplain; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Firefighter Hopkins devotes a great deal of time to |
|
|
aiding his fellow firefighters; whether visiting sick family |
|
|
members in the hospital, traveling great distances to attend |
|
|
funerals, or serving as a counselor or intermediary for his peers, |
|
|
he has benefited many with his generosity of spirit and has helped |
|
|
to create a familial atmosphere at Station 5A and elsewhere in the |
|
|
department; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Leading by example through his commitment to |
|
|
professional excellence, Keith Hopkins is an invaluable member of |
|
|
the Mesquite Fire Department whose contributions have endeared him |
|
|
to his brothers and sisters in the department as well as the greater |
|
|
community; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Keith Hopkins on being named the |
|
|
Mesquite Fire Department 2007 Firefighter of the Year and commend |
|
|
him for his outstanding service; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Firefighter Hopkins as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
