  H.R. No. 869

R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The well-being of the people of Texas depends on
  economic prosperity throughout the state, and independent
  businesses that employ Texans and contribute to their local
  economies are important components of a healthy economy and a
  prosperous future; and
         WHEREAS, Jack's Fine Food, the popular Atlanta restaurant
  owned by Jack Wright, is celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2007;
  and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Wright learned the restaurant business
  firsthand from his father, who had managed restaurants in
  Texarkana; originally employed as a regional manager for Owens
  Country Sausage, Mr. Wright tired of traveling and decided to open
  his own restaurant; he purchased an old car lot on Highway 59 at the
  north end of Atlanta and, with a partner, opened Rawleigh's
  Restaurant on February 11, 1977; shortly thereafter, he bought out
  his partner, and the restaurant became known as Jack's Fine Food;
  and
         WHEREAS, At the time he first opened for business, Dairy
  Queen was the only chain restaurant in Atlanta; today Highway 59 is
  lined with nationally known restaurants, but Jack's Fine Food
  continues to offer something special--quality, home-cooked food at
  a fair price; drawing a loyal and ever-expanding clientele,
  Mr. Wright counts among his customers a number of former employees
  whose children are now employed by him; and
         WHEREAS, For 30 years, Jack's Fine Food has enriched the
  lives of area residents and visitors alike by offering first-rate
  fare in a friendly, family atmosphere, and Mr. Wright indeed merits
  special recognition for his achievement; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Jack Wright on the 30th anniversary
  of Jack's Fine Food and extend to him sincere best wishes for
  continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Wright as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
