R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, More than 200 veterans from Montgomery County and |
|
the surrounding area celebrated the opening of the Conroe Veterans |
|
Affairs Community Based Outpatient Clinic on February 26, 2007; and |
|
WHEREAS, Located north of Houston in an area with a large |
|
number of veterans, Conroe was chosen by the U.S. Department of |
|
Veterans Affairs as one of the top 10 places most in need of a VA |
|
clinic; equipped with the latest technology, the spacious new |
|
facility is serving the primary care and mental health needs of some |
|
44,000 veterans; and |
|
WHEREAS, The clinic will operate out of this location at 800 |
|
Riverwood Drive for at least five years, though the long-term plan |
|
is to construct a larger building where it would remain |
|
permanently; and |
|
WHEREAS, The Conroe VA clinic will no doubt make an |
|
immeasurable difference in the lives of countless veterans, and we |
|
join in welcoming this significant and much-needed health center to |
|
Southeast Texas; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby commend the opening of the Conroe Veterans |
|
Affairs Community Based Outpatient Clinic and extend sincere best |
|
wishes to all those involved with this important endeavor; and, be |
|
it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for the Conroe Veterans Affairs Community Based Outpatient |
|
Clinic as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of |
|
Representatives. |
