R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, J. J. Kinzbach of Montgomery High School has |
|
achieved unprecedented success in Texas high school diving by |
|
winning his fourth consecutive Class 4A one-meter diving state |
|
title; and |
|
WHEREAS, Competing at the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming |
|
Center in Austin, the talented senior from Montgomery also broke |
|
his own state 4A record with a cumulative score of 561; notably, |
|
that total was enough to easily surpass the existing state and 5A |
|
record of 538.55, which had stood since 1980; and |
|
WHEREAS, This hard-working athlete has the distinction of |
|
being the only male diver in the history of Texas high school |
|
swimming and diving to win gold in the same event four years |
|
running, an achievement that demonstrates Mr. Kinzbach's |
|
commitment to a sport that requires both superior physical agility |
|
and supreme mental toughness; and |
|
WHEREAS, J. J. Kinzbach has shown that he has what it takes to |
|
compete at the highest level of his sport, and, as he sets his |
|
sights on participation in the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, he can |
|
look back with justifiable pride on his athletic accomplishments at |
|
Montgomery High School; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate J. J. Kinzbach for winning the 2007 |
|
Class 4A one-meter diving state championship and for setting a new |
|
state record in his event; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Kinzbach as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
