R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Victor Ramon has received a 2007 Texas Christian
  University Texas Youth Entrepreneur of the Year Award in honor of
  his innovative ideas and enterprising spirit; and
         WHEREAS, The TCU youth entrepreneur program gives
  scholarships to students currently enrolled in high school who have
  excelled at starting and managing a business; Mr. Ramon was
  recognized for the two successful businesses he has founded while a
  student at Highland Park High School; and
         WHEREAS, In 2002, Mr. Ramon started Highland Park Computer
  Repair; four years later, that venture is flourishing and he is in
  the process of becoming certified by Microsoft as a desktop support
  technician; and
         WHEREAS, At the beginning of the 2006-2007 school year, he
  also founded HP Tutors in order to help other students succeed in
  difficult high school courses; his company, which pairs struggling
  students with the school's top achievers, already has a team of 15
  tutors and an expanding list of satisfied clients; and
         WHEREAS, A gifted and highly motivated young Texan, Victor
  Ramon is vice president of the student congress and a member of the
  National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, and Science
  National Honor Society; he has also attained the rank of Eagle
  Scout; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Ramon was presented with his award, a $1,000
  scholarship, at a banquet held on February 12, 2007, at TCU; and
         WHEREAS, Endowed with an ability to perceive a consumer need
  and marshal the resources to fill it, Victor Ramon has rendered a
  genuine service to his fellow students and to his community while
  demonstrating an abundance of initiative, organizational skill,
  and perseverance--qualities that clearly portend a bright and
  rewarding future; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Victor Ramon on his receipt of a
  Texas Christian University Texas Youth Entrepreneur of the Year
  Award and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Ramon as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
