R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Priscilla Leal of Corpus Christi has long helped to
  make her community a better place in which to live, work, and raise
  a family; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Leal was employed with the City of Corpus
  Christi for two decades, and during her years in the workplace, she
  researched and played a vital role in bringing the United Steel
  Workers to Texas; today, as a result of her leadership, the union
  represents men and women in Corpus Christi and in other cities
  across the Lone Star State; and
         WHEREAS, Since her retirement, Mrs. Leal has continued to
  lend a hand wherever she perceives a need to be met; she has helped
  to prompt a number of vital city developments, including the Horne
  Road and Gollihar Road improvement projects and the
  Mansheim-Sunnybrook drainage project; moreover, she has been a
  staunch advocate of the residents of the 78415 zip code, supporting
  students and parents in education disputes and representing workers
  with employment grievances; and
         WHEREAS, A highly regarded volunteer and civic leader,
  Priscilla Leal has greatly enhanced the lives of her fellow
  citizens through her many good works, and her efforts have made her
  an inspiration to all who are privileged to know her; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby honor Priscilla Leal for her many significant
  contributions to the betterment of her community and extend to her
  sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mrs. Leal as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
