R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, The City of Irving is hosting the 10th Anniversary |
|
Transportation Summit on August 7-10, 2007; and |
|
WHEREAS, Since the first event, the summit has evolved into a |
|
nationally and internationally known conference; this year's |
|
symposium will bring together public policy leaders at all levels |
|
to commemorate past advances and look to future needs, including |
|
multimodal transportation investment; elected officials and |
|
transportation experts will serve as keynote speakers on topics |
|
that reflect the summit's theme, "The Future Starts Here"; and |
|
WHEREAS, Coordinated by the City of Irving and Dean |
|
International, Inc., and sponsored by a list of noteworthy public |
|
and private entities, the 10th anniversary event is expected to be |
|
the largest summit yet, with some 1,200 people attending and |
|
numerous cities and counties also taking part; and |
|
WHEREAS, The State of Texas should be a national leader in |
|
creating transportation models for the future, and the efforts of |
|
the City of Irving in support of this significant issue merit |
|
special recognition and praise; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby commemorate the 10th Anniversary Transportation |
|
Summit and extend to all those associated with it sincere best |
|
wishes for a successful event; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for the City of Irving as an expression of high regard by |
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
