R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The members of the Texas Council of Child Welfare
  Boards (TCCWB) are making invaluable contributions to the safety of
  abused and neglected children; and
         WHEREAS, TCCWB is a network of about 2,000 volunteers that
  represent more than 200 county child welfare and child protective
  services boards throughout Texas; established in 1976, this
  important coalition strives to protect our state's vulnerable
  citizens through a wide range of efforts and initiatives; and
         WHEREAS, Along with the help of the Texas Department of
  Family and Protective Services and other agencies and
  organizations, TCCWB has worked to develop resources, programs, and
  strategies to enhance services offered to children and families in
  need; the organization is also committed to promoting public
  awareness in order to prevent abuse and neglect; and
         WHEREAS, Childhood is a special time of life, shaping the
  character and attitudes that mark a person's future, and by
  combating child abuse and neglect, all those associated with TCCWB
  are striving to ensure that our children receive the love and
  support they need to live healthy, happy, and productive lives;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby commend the members of the Texas Council of
  Child Welfare Boards for their meaningful service to the children
  of our state and extend to them best wishes for the future; and, be
  it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the Texas Council of Child Welfare Boards as an
  expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
